Police: Student Stabbed While Walking to School in Northwest

A student was reportedly stabbed in Tenleytown while walking to Wilson High School.

A student has been stabbed while walking to Wilson High School in Northwest, police said.

The incident happened in the 3600 block of Chesapeake Street NW.

"[A] juvenile male student was approached by a suspect outside the school who demanded property," a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson said. "Victim walked himself to school to report the incident and his injuries."

The spokesperson added that the victim was "conscious and breathing" and was sent to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and the suspect remains t large.
