Retailers To Bring Sports, Smoothies, Fitness To Half Street

Tom's Watch Bar, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and F45 Training will be opening in 2022 below The Kelvin apartments near Nationals Park.

WASHINGTON, DC — Tom’s Watch Bar, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and F45 Training will be opening in 2022 near National Park, adding to the Half Street retail and restaurant scene. The new retailers will be located below The Kelvin apartments at 1250 Half Street SE.

Jair Lynch, a real estate investment firm, is developing the site, and real estate company Bozzuto is managing the complex.

Tom’s Watch Bar will have wall-to-wall screens and a menu that includes wings, burgers, dozens of beers on tap. Its 7,750-square foot space will be equipped with a central oversized “stadium” screen surrounded by hundreds of smaller screens that will cover all sports.

Tom’s Navy Yard space will be its seventh location across the country after opening in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Denver and other locations. The restaurant plans to open in summer 2022.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe has more than 970 franchised locations nationwide. The cafe plans to open in spring 2022.

F45 Training specializes in high-intensity group workouts. Every 45-minute workout is led by a team of personal trainers and burns up to 750 calories per session. When it officially opens its doors in early 2022, the nearly 3,000-square-foot location will feature multiple team workout sessions seven days a week.

“With the return of baseball season and continued vaccination efforts in D.C., the spirit of Half Street is back and better than ever,” Anthony Startt, director of investments for Jair Lynch, said in a statement Tuesday. “Tom’s Watch Bar, Tropical Smoothie Café, and F45 are the perfect additions to the neighborhood, which is known for its love of sports, delicious drinks and a good workout, and we can’t wait for them to officially open their doors.”
