Silly Uproar or Legit Beef? 'Paint-Gate' Strikes the DC Metro
Metro just up and started the ceiling of Union Station white, and people are up in arms about it.

WASHINGTON, DC -- There's just no predicting the next D.C. Metro controversy. On a day when an entire segment of the Red Line was shut down because of a bolt, people are up in arms about paint on the ceiling of Union Station, which is now being called "Paint-Gate."
Apparently, people think the new strokes of white paint suddenly appearing out of the blue on the brutalist ceiling of the Union Station Metro station just won't do. The uproar has been so great that WMATA even felt the need to release a statement about it on Monday, as posted on Twitter by NBC 4's Adam Tuss: "While power washing was considered, years of dust, dirt, and grime coating the vault cannot effectively be cleaned and does little to move the needle when it comes to brightness."

DC Metro should make sure the trains run on time and safely, not paint the walls of stations white -- the walls are beautiful. @wmata pic.twitter.com/8G99lWGFbN
