Smoke Fills Gallery Place Metro Station in DC [VIDEO]
A light fixture reportedly malfunctioned, filling the station with smoke and causing a suspension of Green and Yellow line service.

WASHINGTON, DC — It was another scary moment in the Metro system Tuesday after the Gallery Place station filled with smoke due to what turned out to be a smoking light fixture, according to a Washington Post report.
Service on Metro's Green and Yellow lines was suspended Tuesday evening as the fire department investigated the cause of the heavy smoke, which was captured on video by riders (below). Trains were single-tracking between Mt. Vernon Square and L'Enfant Plaza while crews worked to fix the light fixture, causing huge delays in both directions.
