First Degree Murder Charge Filed Against DC Man
Homicide detectives arrested a Southeast man Monday in connection with the Sept. 26, fatal shooting of 25-year-old Anthony Lee.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Southeast man Monday in connection with the Sept. 26 fatal shooting of Anthony Lee, 25, of Southwest, according to a police release.
Seventh District officers responded around 11:25 p.m., on Sept. 26, to the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Jr., Ave., S.E., for the sound of gunshots. They found Lee, suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported him to a nearby hospital, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, MPD arrested Niko James Hall, 29, of Southeast, Monday and charged him with first degree murder while armed (premeditated). This case remains under investigation.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this homicide to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
