Southeast Man Dies In Vehicle Crash On Benning Road
Crash investigators are looking into a traffic fatality that occurred Tuesday afternoon on Benning Road.
WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Major Crash Investigations Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a traffic fatality that took place Tuesday afternoon on Benning Road, Southeast, according to a police release.
Following a preliminary investigation, police determined the driver of a 2012 Infiniti G37x was heading southeast bound on Benning Road at a high rate of speed around 12:32 p.m. The driver lost control of the vehicle in the 4500 block of Benning Road, S.E.. The car collided with a light pole, then crashed into a utility pole before overturning. D.C. Fire and EMS examined the driver, determined he displayed no signs consistent with life and pronounced him dead.
MPD identified the decedent as Denico Lindsey, 26, of Southeast.
