Spring Into Health with Community Farmers Market in Anacostia
EVENT TO BRING AWARENESS TO URBAN FARMING RESOURCES EAST OF THE RIVER

Wellpoint DC, in partnership with DC Public Schools (DCPS) and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), will host the Spring Into Health Community Farmers Market on Saturday, March 21, at Anacostia High School to celebrate local urban farmers and advance food access and nutrition awareness across the District.
Urban farmers cultivate unused spaces such as rooftops and vacant lots to grow produce within city limits. UDC has initiated a program at the high school to teach students about agriculture.
The event will also feature guidance on starting an urban farm or garden and cooking demonstrations. The first 150 families will get free groceries.
