Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of DC Teen: Police

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male in broad daylight in Northeast Washington on July 30.

WASHINGTON, DC — A Northeast Washington man has been arrested for the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male in broad daylight on July 30.

At about 2:55 p.m. July 30, officers responded to the 4400 block of Quarles St., NE. for the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a juvenile male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. The decedent has been identified as Jermaine Richards, Jr., of Southwest Washington.

On Tuesday, August 8, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 23 year-old Tyrell T. Moody for the murder. He was charged withSecond Degree Murder while Armed, police said.
