Suspect Charged In Fatal Shooting Near Dupont Circle
D.C. Police detectives arrested a Northeast man in connection with the February fatal shooting of a homeless man near Dupont Circle.
WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives arrested a suspect in connection with the February fatal shooting of a homeless man near Dupont Circle, according to a police release.
Officers from the Third District responded Saturday, Feb. 15, around 5:59 p.m., to the report of a shooting in the 100 block of N Street, N.W. Arriving on the scene, they found an adult mail suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to an area hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS, but life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead. Police identified the decedent as Eugene Issac Jr., 34, of no fixed address.
Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task for located Lejeevan Toudle, 36, of Northeast, D.C., on Friday, April 17, and charged him with first degree murder while armed (felony murder). This case remains under investigation.
