Toys R Us Stores Near DC Are Closing
The retailer will be shutting down for good, which means several nearby stores are closing.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The end has come for Toys R Us, the once mighty retailer that ruled the toy industry. And that means stores in the D.C. area will be closing for good.
Toys R Us will close or sell all of its more than 800 stores scattered across the United States after it failed to come up with a plan that would save about 200 of them. The retailer has already started liquidating about 180 stores, according to CNBC, after Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy protect last September as it struggled with $5 billion in debt.

There is not yet a clear timeline on when these stores will close, but it could happen in weeks.
The end of Toys R Us will cause 33,000 employees to lose their jobs.
