Update: Police Charge Northeast Man In Kingman Park Homicide

DC Police charged a Northeast man Wednesday with First Degree Murder While Armed for the Jan. 23 fatal shooting in Kingman Park.

UPDATE (Jan. 30, 11:40 a.m.): Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Stanley Brown, 27, of Northeast, on Wednesday, Jan. 30, and charged him with First Degree Murder while Armed in the shooting death of Jimmy Beynum, 36, of Northeast, according to a police report.

WASHINGTON, DC --Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating what is now being considered a fatal shooting that occurred Jan. 23 in the Kingman Park neighborhood, according to a police release. Jimmy Beynum, 36, of Northeast, D.C., succumbed to his injuries Wednesday.

On Thursday, Jan. 23, at about 10:18 a.m., officers from the Fifth District responded to the report of a shooting in the 1600 block of F Street, N.E. Arriving on the scene, they found Beynum suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported him to an area hospital, but Beynum succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 29 and was pronounced dead.
