Redskins Players Don't Kneel For Anthem Monday Night
Did they cave to President Trump's demands for players to stand during the national anthem?

President Trump may be able to claim a big victory in the ideological battle over anthem protests: not a single Redskin kneeled for the anthem Monday night during the matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, and it appears only a couple players on the Chiefs protested.
A week after there were sweeping anthem protests in response to Trump's vulgar comments made toward players who kneel, it was a much more muted response in Week 4, with a number of kneelings but not nearly as many the week prior. Many wondered what the Redskins would do after six kneeled last week, and it appears all have decided to stand for the anthem, although some stood with arms interlocked.
On the Chiefs sideline, corner Marcus Peters sat for the anthem, as he has all year.

For a second straight week, the Washington Redskins will be in the national spotlight as they head to Kansas City to face the undefeated Chiefs in the Monday Night game. The question is, will they repeat last week's performance by kneeling in protest of police brutality and systemic discrimination?
A huge number of players kneeled last week after President Trump slammed players for kneeling during the national anthem, using vulgar language to describe them and arguing the owners should fire anyone who does it. Several Redskins did the same at the Sunday Night game at FedEx Field against the Raiders. Redskins owner Dan Snyder appeared with the players but refused to kneel, and released a vague statement that declined to mention Trump by name.
In Week 4, dozens of NFL players took a knee as the national anthem played, while others sat or raised their fists. Trump tweeted the day before that it was "very important" for players to stand.

There weren't as many kneeling players as last weekend, when an estimated 200 players took a knee. However, there were still far more than before Trump used derogatory language to describe Colin Kaepernick, who started the protests.
Will Redskins players kneel? Redskins tight end Jordan Reed was among those who kneeled last week, but there was no indication on whether he'd do the same tonight.
We'll update this post on what happens before the Monday Night game.
