Woman Stabbed To Death While Jogging In Logan Circle: Reports

The 35-year-old woman reportedly had gone out for a jog when she was attacked.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Police are searching for a suspect after a woman was stabbed to death while jogging in Logan Circle Tuesday evening, according to reports.

Fox 5 reports that 35-year-old Wendy Martinez of Northwest stumbled into a nearby Chinese food carryout restaurant bleeding from the neck, where she collapsed and died later at the hospital.

Martinez was jogging at around 8 p.m. at 11th and O streets when she was attacked. Restaurant surveillance video show Martinez collapsing in the restaurant and some customers fleeing, while others tried to help her, according to the report.

Police describe the suspect as a man wearing a mustard-colored shirt, dark-colored pants, white socks, and sandals. Police believe it to be a random attack.
