Women's March On Washington 2018 To Descend On DC This Weekend
Last year's event drew an estimated half a million people a day after President Trump's inauguration.
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Women's March on Washington is back this weekend, one year after its historic demonstration on the National Mall drew an estimated half a million people the day after President Trump was inaugurated.
The event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 20 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Reflecting Pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
Don't expect the massive crowds of last year's event, but there could be thousands, with nearly 8,000 indicating they were going on the event's Facebook page and 17,000 saying they were interested.

The main event currently being promoted by the organization is the "Women's March Anniversary: Power to the Polls" that will take place at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas on Jan. 21. However, fewer people have indicated they are going to that event, with 3,000 RSVP'ing.
"March On The Polls, the Anniversary to the 2017 Women's March, exists to advance peaceful and positive progress in communities across the country, with the goal of ensuring all women and their allies persist in civic and political roles moving into 2018," reads the D.C. event's Facebook page. "The past year featured an historic number of women engaging in the political process – including running for office – and it is vital that women and their allies continue to take an active role in 2018 elections."

Meanwhile, sister marches will be taking place across the country.
"We will be meeting at the reflecting pool facing the Lincoln Memorial. Speakers will be on the steps leading up to the memorial," the event page states. "The rally will start at 11 a.m. and will feature several speakers. We expect to start the march around 1 p.m."
