4 Dead, Including 3 Children, In FL House Fire: Reports

BAKER COUNTY, FL — Three children were among four people killed in a house fire Wednesday in rural Baker County, according to multiple reports citing authorities. Two dogs were also killed in the blaze, reports said.

The fire broke out just after 8:30 a.m. at a home in the 4900 block of OC Horne Road, according to a Florida Times-Union report citing Baker County Fire Chief Trevor Nelson. When fire crews arrived, reports said they discovered multiple people trapped inside the home and several others outside who required medical attention, the Times-Union reported.

According to an Action Jax News report, two adults and one child were pulled from the flames. All three died at the scene. A third child who authorities believe was missing was later discovered dead inside the home, reports said.

Two dogs also died in the fire, News 4 Jax reported. Two adults were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities did not release the names or ages of the victims, but Baker County Sheriff Scott Rhoden said one of the two survivors is a Baker County correctional officer, reports said.
