Animated FL Deputy Helps Pull Gator From Family's Pool: Photo
Fear, shock or awe? A Brevard County deputy's facial expression captured the attention of hundreds after a recent gator call.

BREVARD COUNTY, FL — There's "never a dull moment" working as a Florida law enforcement officer, according to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey.
Just ask Deputy Robert Santiago. In a photo shared to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page, Santiago looks terror-stricken as he helped local trapper Scott Swartley pull an 8-foot alligator from a family's swimming pool.
In the post, Ivey asked followers to caption the photo.

"I would love to know exactly what Deputy Santiago was thinking, but I'm pretty sure it was, 'Oh, hell no, I didn't sign up for this!!" Ivey said.
Followers delivered in earnest.

"He's probably thinking, 'This guy is crazy!!' Tina Lynn Robbins wrote.
According to Steven Russell, Santiago was probably thinking, "If I stand perfectly still, he will think I'm a tree and leave me alone."
"Brother, I ain't walking your Gator anymore. He don't listen!" Steve Buffkin said.
The gator was safely removed from the pool, but no word yet on what Santiago was actually thinking during the encounter.
Despite the humor in the situation, Ivey offered the deputy praise.
"Great job by Deputy Santiago and our partner, Scott Swartley," Ivey wrote.
