Buc-ee's Travel Center Eyes Possible 4th FL Location: Report

Buc-ee's, a Texas-based convenience store chain known for "the world's cleanest bathrooms, is in talks to build a location along I-95.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL — Buc-ee's, a Texas-based convenience store chain known for its beaver mascot and the "world's cleanest bathrooms," is looking to build its fourth Florida location along Interstate 95 in St. Lucie County, according to a report.

Public documents obtained by TCPalm showed that county officials hosted a pre-application meeting on July 27 for a “travel center/fueling station” on 33 acres of land southeast of Interstate 95 and Indrio Road in Fort Pierce.

While the name Buc-ee’s wasn’t mentioned at the meeting, "it was understood at the meeting what it was,” officials told TCPalm.

Building plans submitted to the county call for 73,000 square feet of retail space, 733 parking stalls, 11 bus parking stalls and 120 fueling positions, the newspaper reported.

The company's website states that “Buc-ee’s Travel Center is a family-focused travel center featuring a wide range of freshly prepared foods including home-crafted bbq, custom made sandwiches, fresh salads and fruits, baked goods, and sweets as well as a unique collection of gifts, housewares, clothing, and weekend get-away gear."

Buc-ee’s locations are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The company claims to have the cleanest restrooms and does not allow 18-wheelers on the property.

Bucee's has two locations in Florida — one in Daytona Beach, the other in St. Augustine.

A third location in Marion County is also in the works, WFLA reported. The “world’s largest” Buc-ee’s will be built near Interstate 75 and will consist of an 80,000-square-foot travel center, 120 fuel pumps and more than 720 parking spots for visitors.
