Fitness Studio Chain Shutters Locations Nationwide, Including In FL

The closures come after it was announced earlier this month that the company's CEO was leaving.

Fitness studio chain SoulCycle is closing several locations nationwide, including in Florida, according to a recent report from TheStreet.

Although SoulCycle has not announced the closures, TheStreet reported that six studios were set to be shuttered Sunday across the country, including in Miami Beach, with the publication citing local reporting and employee communications.

SoulCycle was founded in 2006 and is known for its 45-minute indoor rhythm riding classes. This month's closures come after it was announced earlier in June that CEO Evelyn Webster was leaving SoulCycle to run media company Audiochuck.

The latest round of closings is not SoulCycle's first in recent years, as the company shuttered about 20 of its then 83 studios in 2022, following temporary but extended closures in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, CNN reported at the time.

At the industry-wide level, participation in cycling saw one of the biggest declines in activities tracked as part of a 2025 Sports and Fitness Industry Association report, dropping 33.5 percent over the previous five years, according to TheStreet. Pilates, on the other hand, saw some of the fastest growth, increasing almost 40 percent during the same period, TheStreet reported.
