FL Winner Of $1.6B Mega Millions Jackpot Claims Prize: Report

FLORIDA — The winner of the record-setting $1.602 billion Mega Millions jackpot sold at a Florida Publix in August has come forward to claim their prize, according to an Associated Press report.
The jackpot-winning ticket for Aug. 8th's historic Mega Millions drawing — the biggest jackpot ever up for grabs — was sold at a Neptune Beach Publix at 630 Atlantic Blvd. The prize surpassed the previous record of $1.537 billion, won in South Carolina on Oct. 23, 2018.
The winning numbers for the drawing were 13, 19, 20, 32 and 33 and the Mega Ball was 14.

The winner of the historic prize was not identified. According to state law, winners have 90 days to remain confidential. Once the period of time expires, the Florida Lottery may legally release their name.

Lottery documents obtained by WFLA showed the winner claimed the cash option of $783.3 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays. The current jackpot is $267 million with a cash option of $123.6 million.
