Bonnie Bowen, at 91, continues to do what she loves best: create watercolors that inspire, uplift and support others. Her whimsical, charming paintings of life as we knew it during the year of COVID, were posted on Facebook by her daughter starting in March of 2020, and have struck a chord in many. Even Ohio’s most prominent citizen, Governor Mike DeWine, called with thanks for Bonnie’s uplifting paintings.

Bonnie, now a Florida resident, has been a lover of art ever since her third-grade teacher asked her to draw Pilgrims on a mural in honor of the school’s Thanksgiving celebration. Bonnie went on to study art at Ohio State, as her minor while she majored in education. Unfortunately, Bonnie was not spared COVID, but the good news is she recovered well, and after a mere three-week absence, start painting again.
