Estero man killed in Bonita Springs collision while crossing street (news-press.com) — A 55-year-old Estero man was struck and killed Monday night while walking his bicycle across US 41 in Bonita Springs, just south of North Bay Village Drive. Florida Highway Patrol says the northbound pickup driver and two passengers were uninjured, and the crash remains under investigation amid a rising toll of traffic deaths in Lee County this year.
   

2. Four SW FL teens accused of beating, choking victim at house party (news-press.com) — A Bonita Springs house party ended in violence when four Southwest Florida teens allegedly beat and choked another attendee, an incident captured on video. Deputies say the suspects fled, but all were later arrested in Fort Myers and Estero, with court dates set in early June. The victim’s identity remains protected.

Gateway neighbors concerned over possible FPL transmission line project near homes (winknews.com) — A Gateway resident who owns a spa in Bonita Springs is among neighbors worried about a possible new FPL transmission line that could remove trees and alter nearby parks and neighborhoods. Residents say they’ve received little information beyond an initial letter and want more transparency from both FPL and local officials about potential impacts on quality of life and property values.
