• Family discovers damage to graves at Bonita Springs Cemetery (gulfcoastnewsnow.com) — Family members visiting Bonita Springs Cemetery say they found a casket-sized hole covered with plywood where their father had been exhumed and new damage to their grandmother’s nearby grave. They report difficulty getting answers from the managing funeral home, though repairs were completed later Wednesday, and they’re still pushing for accountability while holding onto memories of their loved ones.
   

• Connie Broers (ljworld.com) — Family and friends in Bonita Springs are mourning Connie Jean Broers, whose mother and sister live locally while she spent her life and career in Kansas and Missouri. The 74-year-old medical technologist and devoted family member died April 22 in Baldwin City, Kansas, after a long, respected career in hospital laboratory leadership and years of active church and community involvement.
