16-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Bradenton Shooting: Manatee Sheriff

The 18-year-old killed in a fatal shooting at a Bradenton mobile home wasn't the suspect's intended victim, the sheriff's office said.

BRADENTON, FL — A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with manslaughter with a firearm in the July 9 fatal shooting of an 18-year-old at Pic Town Mobile Home Park in Bradenton, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

While deputies released the suspect's name, it is Patch's policy not to identify those in the juvenile court system. MCSO hasn’t indicated whether the suspect is being charged as an adult or juvenile.

The teen killed in the shooting, Nicholas Dickinson, wasn’t the suspect’s intended victim, the agency said. Rather, the suspect was targeting the mobile home where the victim was found dead.
