Aggressive Driving Crackdown Kicks Off This Weekend
The statewide effort is being led by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Motorists who get aggressive behind the wheel might find themselves facing costly citations as the Florida Highway Patrol kicks off a crackdown on bad driving behaviors.
The state announced the launch of its Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks, or TACT campaign, Friday and has plans to have its troopers focus on those who display aggressive driving behaviors throughout most of March.
This month was selected because it also happens to be Spring Breath month. That means there should be plenty of travelers on Sunshine State roads.

“Addressing aggressive driving is essential to making Florida’s highways safer for everyone,” Col. David Brierton, the highway patrol’s director said in a media release. “Aggressive driving occurs when a motorist commits two or more moving violations, such as speeding, unsafe lane changes, following too closely, not yielding the right of way, improper passing, or failure to obey traffic control devices. Any one of these behaviors is dangerous by itself, and a combination of these can be deadly.”
To avoid being targeted during the campaign that runs until March 26, motorists are advised to simply follow the basic rules of the road:
