De Soto National Museum To Let Visitors Explore 500 Years
Lovers of history will have a chance to experience five centuries of Florida history at the De Soto National Museum.

BRADENTON, FL – Lovers of history will have a chance to experience five centuries of Florida history Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the De Soto National Museum.
The museum is hosting a number of period reenactors who will share stories and demonstrate crafts, skills and historic weapons.
Visitors will have a chance to see genuine Cracker cow horse, Lightning; explore a Civil War encampment; have coffee with GI’s from the Sunshine State; meet Spanish conquistadors and 19th-century artisans; and speak with modern-day archaeologists from the Time Sifters Archaeology group.

Children are invited to wear their favorite period costumes and earn a De Soto Junior Range badge by getting stamps on their time traveler’s passport.
Village Idiot Pizza will be on site with pizza and shredded pork tacos along with drinks from noon to 3 p.m.

Admission and all activities are free.
De Soto National Memorial is offering free parking and free shuttle service, provided by Siesta Trolley. Parking for the event and trollies will be available at B. King Middle School on 75th St Northwest. Only limited handicapped parking will be available in the park for the event. The free trolley will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at regular intervals.
