Detectives Want To Talk To Teen About Fatal Shooting: Manatee Sheriff
Investigators are interested in speaking with a Bradenton teen about a July 9 fatal shooting, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
BRADENTON, FL — Detectives want to talk to 17-year-old Victor Elwell of Bradenton about the homicide of 18-year-old Nicholas Dickinson in Pic Town Mobile Home Park on July 9, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with manslaughter with a firearm in the fatal shooting last month.
While deputies released the suspect's name, it is Patch's policy not to identify those in the juvenile court system. MCSO hasn’t indicated whether the suspect is being charged as an adult or juvenile.

Dickinson wasn’t the suspect’s intended victim, the agency said. Rather, the suspect was targeting the mobile home where the victim was found dead.
The victim and the suspect may not have known each other, detectives added. He was inside the home when the suspect fired at the mobile home that night.

Dickinson, who shot back, was struck once in his chest during the shootout, the sheriff’s office said. His roommate found him dead the next morning.
The suspect’s motive for the shooting is unknown and the case remains under investigation, the agency said.
