Elf On the Shelf Jailed in Miami Beach

He stands accused of trying to steal Santa's sleigh.

A holiday icon has been jailed in Miami Beach, accused of grand theft … sleigh.

It seems officers at the Miami Beach Police Department caught the Elf on a Shelf red-handed in an attempt to steal Santa’s sleigh.

“This is what happened after #elfonashelf tried to steal Santa’s sleigh last night,” the department Tweeted. “#CrimeDoesntPay.”

The little guy was thrown in the slammer for the crime. It’s unclear when he’ll go before a judge or just how high his bail has been set. It’s also unclear if Mr. Claus will press formal charges.

Presumably, the Jolly Ole Elf himself is sunning in Florida before taking his long Christmas Eve ride.

Fortunately, Miami Beach Police were able to ensure Santa’s sleigh is still available for those special holiday deliveries.

While police in Miami Beach were saving Christmas and having fun on Twitter, officers in Boynton Beach made the holidays come early for one little girl this week. Following a hang-up 911 call, two officers learned a little girl was sad since her family couldn’t afford a tree. They remedied that on Sunday, delivering a tree, lights, a stand and even ornaments to the struggling family.
