Hurricane Grill & Wings Opens in Bradenton Monday
The eatery has taken over the former Lee Roy Selmon's location.

Bradenton area diners hungry for new culinary options don’t have to wait too much longer for Hurricane Grill & Wings to open its doors.
The new 6510 W. Cortez Road location is set to open Monday, June 1. Officials say the first 100 customers in line on opening day will win free wings for an entire year.
The restaurant is taking over the former Lee Roy Selmon’s location and has plans to serve up more than 35 “signature flavors of award-winning, never frozen fresh jumbo wings,” according to Shelby Lopaty, spokesperson. “Flavors range from traditional buffalo sauces to an array of unique options that include maple pepper, Ancho chile lime and raspberry and can range in heat intensity from Calm Seas to Evacuation Route.”

Burger lovers aren’t being left in the dust either. The location will offer patrons the ability to build their own burgers while also serving up salads, seafood and sandwiches.
The new location also boasts large-screen televisions, an indoor dining room that seats 195 people, including 19 at the bar. Plus, there’s an outdoor patio that seats up to 34 people.

For those concerned about the fate of former Lee Roy Selmon’s employees, Lopaty says they’re likely to notice some familiar faces within the establishment.
“Hurricane Grill & Wings also retained a large majority of Lee Roy Selmon’s staff during the transition,” Lopaty said.
Hurricane Grill & Wings opened its first Florida location in 1955 and since has grown to more than 80 restaurants in 17 states.
The new location will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until midnight.
The chain also operates a location in Sarasota at 8201 S. Tamiami Trail.
