Man Killed In Hit-And-Run While In Crosswalk Near Bradenton Publix: FL Troopers
An SUV, possibly a Toyota Rav4 or 4-Runner, fled the scene of a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in a crosswalk near a Bradenton Publix.
BRADENTON, FL — A man was killed in a Monday evening hit-and-run crash while in a crosswalk near a Bradenton Publix, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
An unknown SUV was heading west on 60th Avenue West, approaching a marked crosswalk near the entrance to the grocery store, a quarter-mile west of U.S. 41 just before 7 p.m.
The SUV’s unknown driver hit a 74-year-old Bradenton man who was crossing 60th Avenue West in the crosswalk at the time, troopers said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the crash, the SUV entered the nearby Flamingo Garden Apartments and stopped before traveling through the apartment complex, reentering 60th Avenue West, and heading west, away from the crash, FHP said.

The SUV is possibly a Toyota Rav4 or 4-Runner, possibly dark gray or black, investigators said.
