Officers Escort Late Sergeant’s Daughters To 1st Day Of School: BPD
Bradenton police Sgt. Cosens lost his battle with kidney cancer in April. His colleagues escorted his daughters to their 1st day of school.

BRADENTON, FL — When Sgt. Lee Cosens lost his battle with cancer earlier this year, his fellow officers vowed to be there for his wife of daughters.
Cosens, 39, died in April from metastatic kidney cancer.
A group of officers upheld that promise Thursday by escorting the late sergeant’s daughters to their first day of school, the Bradenton Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

“Lee wouldn’t have missed his girls’ first day of school,” the agency wrote.
So, Sgt. Aaron Pilant, Det. Todd Freed, Det. Jay Gow and Lt. Christopher Deshaies stepped up to bring them to class in his space.
