Police Dog Fired for Biting Doughnut Shop Worker, Cop
The 4-year-old working dog has been officially retired.

A South Florida police dog has been booted off the force after Coconut Creek officials decided he was just a little too eager to take a bite out of crime.
It seems his affinity for biting extended to not only bad guys, but also a doughnut shop worker and a fellow officer from the Coconut Creek Police Department.
Renzo, a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, had been with the agency for about a year when the trouble began, News-Press reported.

Last November, the overzealous critter bit a fellow police officer in the leg while tracking a suspect, the Sun-Sentinel reported. On Feb. 11, Renzo is accused of bursting out of a squad car to bite a Margate Dunkin’ Donuts employee on the calf. That worker has since hired a lawyer, the paper reported.
Renzo’s human handler, Officer Carl DiBlasi, was at the doughnut shop to meet a police sergeant when the attack occurred, News-Press reported. It seems the sergeant was petting Renzo when he lunged at her, the paper reported. DiBlasi tried to restrain the dog, but he was able to get away and bite the shop employee.

While Renzo’s no longer welcome on the beat, the critter does get to enjoy retirement. The dog will continue to live with DiBlasi, ABC reported.
