Punishers at Suncoast USSSA baseball tournament

Punishers at Suncoast USSSA baseball tournament

Coach Jarrod Smith, a VP for the Punishers organization and manager of the 10U Punishers is proud of the Punishers organization based in Lakeland. There are teams at 14U, 13U, 12U, 11U and 10U levels playing with the Polk Baseball Club in Lakeland. PBC has been in place for over 5 years with Jarrod and John Welsh having started the club. PBC is a 501C non profit organization.

Coach Smith stated the "We are here for the kids." Coach Smith and fellow coaches Lee Couey, Robbie Sanger and Chad Warren make every effort to see that the players have a learning and enjoyable experience. The team thinks highly of USSSA tourneys, especially in Plant City as the facility is first rate. The organization sees the USSSA umpire staff as the biggest plus. The umpires are first rate and know the game.

Coach Smith has two children who play for the Punishers, Braden on 10U and Caleb on 12U. Jarrod and his staff stress to the players that they "will fail" and that is very much OK. The Punishers practice twice weekly and regularly enter tourneys giving plenty of opportunity for the players to progress.
