A Special Holiday for the members of Temple Beth El Bradenton

A wonderful night to celebrate Simchat Torah

On Friday, October 28th, the congregants of Temple Beth El Bradenton, celebrated a holiday called Simchat Torah. This is the night that the Jewish people rejoice with the Torah. When the Torah comes to the end of the scroll and needs to be unrolled in order to re-roll it to the beginning again. This Jewish holiday celebrates and marks the conclusion of the annual cycle of public Torah readings, and the beginning of a new cycle. This is the only time of year on which the Torah scrolls are taken out of the ark and read at night. It was an exciting night for everyone involved as they put on special gloves and unrolled their special Holocaust Torah while Rabbi Michael Sternfield explained some of the teachings and customs. Temple Beth El is a reform synagogue at 4200 32nd St W in Bradenton and it's doors are open to all who wish to worship. Shabbat Services are held on Friday Nights at 7:30 pm and at 10 am on Saturday mornings. Other events such as the "Beth El International Film Series", Havdalah dinners, musical shabbat services and more. Contact TBE by calling 941-755-4900. More information www.templebthelbradenton.com
