Theft At Pittsburg Pirates' Clubhouse Leads To Arrest
A Bradenton man faces charges for allegedly swiping iPads from the team's McKechnie Field clubhouse.

BRADENTON, FL — Pirates are known for hoarding treasure, but that doesn’t mean taking their booty is legal.
That’s especially the case when the “pirates” in question are the Pittsburg Pirates and the loot allegedly stolen happens to be 11 Apple iPads valued at $12,000.
A 22-year-old Bradenton man found all that out the hard way recently. According to the Bradenton Police Department, detectives were called to the team’s 1611 9th St. W. clubhouse on March 25 after 11 iPads turned up missing. Their investigation led them to Todd Dyson’s door, the agency wrote in an email to media.

Police say Dyson was working for a vendor within the organization when the theft occurred. “Mr. Dyson concealed the iPads within his work equipment and left McKechnie Field,” the email said.
Ten of the iPads later that day, the police department reported. Sarasota County deputies arrested Dyson and booked him into that county’s jail. He was released March 26 in lieu of $1,500 bond, jail records indicate. Dyson’s arrest was announced Tuesday, March 29.
