• John Michael Perryman (leesburg-news.com) — Chiefland readers are remembering native son John Michael “Mike” Perryman, born there in 1948 and recently passing at age 78. A proud Army Reserve veteran, outdoorsman, and Florida Gators fan, he leaves behind children, grandchildren, and extended family; honoring his wishes, there will be no service or flowers, and his ashes will rest with his wife in Summerfield.
