• Bill Posey, longtime congressman for the Space Coast, dies (orlandosentinel.com) — Residents of Christmas may remember Bill Posey as the congressman whose redrawn 8th District specifically included their community, along with Wedgefield and the Space Coast. Posey, a longtime advocate for space industry jobs and the Indian River Lagoon, died Saturday at 78 after decades of service in local, state, and federal office. His successor, Mike Haridopolos, praised his integrity and dedication to public service.
