4th Of July 2016 Fireworks: Tampa Bay Events

A number of fireworks shows are planned throughout the Tampa Bay area in honor of the Fourth of July.

Tampa Bay, FL — Tampa Bay area residents hoping to take in fireworks in honor of the 4th of July are in luck. A number of festivities have been announced in communities throughout the region.

Here are just some of the events planned around the Tampa Bay area throughout the 4th of July weekend:

Channelside Bay Plaza 4th of July Celebration – Billed as the Tampa area’s largest summer fireworks show, the July 4 event takes place at 615 Channelside Drive in Tampa. The festivities kick off with live music, entertainment and family friendly activities at 6 p.m. The celebration is set to end at 10 p.m. For more details, visit Channelside online.

Fireworks at the Clearwater Threshers Game – This event kicks off July 3 at 6:15 p.m. at Bright House Field, 601 Coachman Road, as the Threshers faceoff against the Brevard County Manatees. A fireworks spectacular is planned after the game. For more information, including game ticket prices, visit the Clearwater Threshers online.

Plant City Fireworks – This event takes place at Plant City Stadium, 1810 E. Park Road. The fun kicks off at 5:45 p.m. July 4 with fireworks expected to begin around 9:15 p.m. In addition to the fireworks show, live entertainment, concessions and a military salute are planned. Fireworks at the Dunedin Blue Jays Game – This July 3 show takes place after the Dunedin Blue Jays play the Tampa Yankees at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, 373 Douglas Ave., Dunedin. The free event also includes a post-game concert. For more details, visit the Dunedin Blue Jays online.

Tarpon Springs Fireworks – The city of Tarpon Springs plans to start its day with a patriotic picnic in Craig Park starting at 10 a.m. Fireworks are set to go off after sunset at Fred Howard Park, 1700 Sunset Drive. The best viewing is from the beach. For more information, visit the city online.

4th of July All American BBQ – Sarasota’s Marie Selby Botanical Gardens plans its barbecue on July 4 starting at 6 p.m. The event at 900 S. Palm Ave. costs $30 for members and $35 for non-members. It features barbecue, music by the Lauren Mitchell Band and a fireworks show over Sarasota Bay. For more details, visit Selby Gardens online.

Clearwater Celebrates America – This massive event takes place in Clearwater’s Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., starting at 4 p.m. July 4. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. and includes such acts as Aubrey Wollett, The Ries Brothers, the Coachman Park Pops and The Wilsons. The free family celebration also includes food, drinks and local vendors. Fireworks begin between 9 and 9:30 p.m. For more details, visit the city’s website.

Safety Harbor 4th of July Celebrations – This community’s celebrations begin at 10 a.m. July 4 with a parade on Main Street. The fun then moves to the Safety Harbor Marina at 5 p.m. for live music by the Mercy McCoy Band and Stimulus, food and activities. Temple Terrace Fireworks – The city's annual fireworks show is set to go off around 9:15 p.m. near the first fairway of the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club, 200 Inverness Ave. A daytime parade and other nighttime entertainment are also planned. Sparklebration – Scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on July 4 at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 State Road 52 in Dade City, this event features skydivers, live music, bounce houses, pony rides and more. It also features a fireworks display after sunset. The cost is $5 for those 13 and up. Parking costs $5, as well. For more information, visit the Pasco County Fair online.

July 4th Fireworks on the Manatee River – This July 4 event begins at 9 p.m. as fireworks are launched from a barge on the river. The festivities take place in the Bradenton Riverwalk area along Barcarrota Avenue. For more information on the free show, visit Realize Bradenton online.

Fireworks Across the Bay Celebration in St. Pete – St. Petersburg’s annual celebration gets under way around 9 p.m. at Spa Beach Park, 615 2nd Ave., on Monday, July 4. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to the free show. The display is also visible from the waterfront with prime viewing from Vinoy, Albert Whitted, North Straub, Spa Beach and South Straub parks. For more information, visit the city online.

Gulfport’s July 4th Celebration – Arts, crafts, food and kids’ activities are planned starting at 2 p.m. July 4 in Gulfport’s Downtown Waterfront District. The fireworks display is set to begin around 9:15 p.m. on Gulfport beach, near the Gulfport Casino. For more details, visit the city online.

Largo 4th of July Celebration – Largo’s festivities begin at 6 p.m. July 4 at Largo Central Park, 101 Central Park Drive. The fun includes food, live entertainment and activities for all ages. The fireworks show begins around 9:15 p.m. There’s also a watermelon seed spitting contest and pie-eating contest for those brave enough to compete. There’s no charge to attend.
