Is Florida ready for a Miss Florida with autism? Is Miss America ready to embrace its own values?

A beauty queen with autism is going viral with her campaign to win the next Miss Florida title. Rachel Barcellona is Miss Manatee River 2019. In June, she competes for Miss Florida. If she wins, she will be the first Miss Florida with autism in history!

She’s not just a beauty queen. Check out a few of her extraordinary accomplishments:
-Represented all individuals with autism as a speaker at the United Nations
-Sang at Madison Square Garden three times (and counting)
-Sang the National Anthem at Amalie Arena twice
-Board member at the University of South Florida’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD-USF)
-Formal commendation recipient from Tampa City Council
-Modeled in NYC Fashion Week
