Nick Hogan, Son Of Hulk Hogan, Charged With DUI In Clearwater: Reports

Nick Hogan was accused of speeding and subsequently failing field sobriety tests during a Clearwater traffic stop, per media reports.

CLEARWATER — Nick Hogan, the 33-year-old son of wrestling icon and former TV personality Hulk Hogan, is being charged on suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop Saturday near Gulf to Bay Boulevard, per media reports.

Hogan, whose real name is Nicholas Bollea, was pulled over Saturday after being accused of speeding and failing to yield to officers who were conducting a traffic stop at Gulf to Bay, News Channel 8 and the Tampa Bay Times reported, citing an arrest affidavit.

According to News Channel 8, Bollea was driving 51 mph in a 40-mph zone. The outlet reported Bollea refused a breathalyzer and failed field sobriety tests after officers smelled the strong odor of alcohol.

According to Pinellas County Jail records, Bollea was booked around 4 a.m. Saturday and has since been released from jail on a surety bond.

The Tampa Bay Times reported Bollea's arrest comes 16 years after he was involved in a crash that caused a man to suffer severe brain damage. According to the outlet, Bollea was accused at the time of racing, losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a tree. He was charged on suspicion of reckless driving and was incarcerated for five months, the outlet reported.
