The project aims to keep the historic look while creating updated short-term lodging, echoing broader efforts to maintain older homes that once housed Clearwater's downtown workers.
   

2. Cedarville University will open new Clearwater location in 2027 (whio.com) — Cedarville University is opening a new Clearwater campus in partnership with Calvary Church, with classes slated to start January 4, 2027 and applications already open. The first program will be a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies, blending in-person and online courses, with university leaders hinting that more degree options could follow as demand grows in the Clearwater area.
   

3. First 18 names set for World Champions Cup in Clearwater (golfchannel.com) — Clearwater will host the Skechers World Champions Cup at Feather Sound Country Club December 3–6, bringing top senior golfers from Team USA, Europe, and the International squad. Eighteen of the 24 roster spots are already filled, with captains like Darren Clarke, Retief Goosen, and Justin Leonard preparing for a fast-paced nine-hole match-play format that adds points on every hole.
   

4. Clearwater man charged $2,400 bill to someone else's room at Florida Keys resort, cops say (tampabay.com) — A 26-year-old Clearwater man has been charged in connection with more than $2,400 in fraudulent charges at an Islamorada resort, where hotel services and merchandise were allegedly billed to another guest's room. Monroe County deputies say he faces grand theft and fraud-related counts, making him the second person arrested in the case after a Hollywood woman was charged last year.
