Since it's now past the 14-day window for the coronavirus symptoms to appear, the DOH believes there is no reason for concern about those inmates and staff members. According to the DOH director, anyone the deputy came in contact with would show signs and symptoms.

The deputy is recovering and will remain out of work for the foreseeable future.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will continue its protective measures already in place at the Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater.
