Rain, Cooler Weather in Store for New Year's Week
The week will bring a mixed bag of weather conditions to the Tampa Bay area.

Tampa Bay area residents are in for a bit of a roller coaster ride courtesy of the weather as New Year’s Day approaches.
According to the National Weather Service, the week will kick off with a sunny Monday with a high near 80. Conditions, however, are anticipated to begin deteriorating in some parts of the Bay in the overnight hours as rain chances creep into the forecast. Tuesday is expected to bring about a 30 percent chance of storms in most parts of the Bay with a high in the mid-70s. Overnight lows will drop to about 60 with rain chances continuing in some areas.
The fog that has created visibility issues the past few mornings and evenings is expected to return Monday night and possibly into Tuesday morning.

Rain is expected to clear out by Wednesday when cooler daytime highs become the norm for a few days. The high is expected to reach about 73 New Year’s Eve and about 70 on New Year’s Day. Overnight lows both days are anticipated in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Forecasters expect a sunny Friday with a high in the mid- to upper 70s.
