• Harbour Hope International to Launch Comprehensive Survivor Care Continuum with Support from Live Well Foundation (sltablet.com) — Survivors of human trafficking in Clermont and nearby South Lake communities will soon have access to a new, trauma-informed support network funded by a $50,000 Live Well Foundation grant. Harbour Hope International’s Comprehensive Survivor Care Continuum will offer case management, mental health care, housing and job support, and life-skills coaching, aiming to help at least 15 survivors and their children rebuild stable, independent lives.
   

• Husband lands behind bars after domestic brawl in Clermont (leesburg-news.com) — Law enforcement recently arrested a Clermont resident after a reported domestic incident at a local home, where deputies say a woman was pushed and struck in the chest during an argument. The report describes the wife’s account of trying to leave, the injuries observed, and the resulting domestic battery and false imprisonment charges filed in Lake County.
   

• Lake County leaders, in face of SB 180, discuss rural protection at joint workshop in Leesburg (growthspotter.com) — Lake County leaders, including Clermont’s, are weighing new rural protection zones that could limit future development and annexation between cities, even as they navigate potential conflicts with state law SB 180. Clermont is part of the existing interlocal boundary agreement that would need revising, so any Joint Rural Protection Areas could shape how and where growth reaches the city’s edges.
