Uber driver involved in hit-and-run crash tells cops he was carjacked (leesburg-news.com) — A Minneola man delivering for Uber is accused of fleeing a high-speed traffic stop and crash in a Clermont neighborhood, then later falsely reporting his car was stolen at gunpoint. Lake County deputies used Clermont roadway radar, neighborhood witnesses, and local surveillance footage to secure a warrant, leading to charges including fleeing to elude and filing a false report.
