• Cocoa pushes forward with Brightline station plans despite financial challenges (wesh.com) — Cocoa is moving ahead with plans for a Brightline passenger rail station near U.S. 1 and State Road 528, backed by a new $2 million state grant for an access road. City officials are still waiting on a much larger federal grant and watching Brightline’s finances, but say they’re committed to building a multimodal station that could be operating by 2030.
   

• Arrests in Brevard County: July 22, 2026 – Suspects Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty (thespacecoastrocket.com) — Multiple Brevard County arrests from July 22 include several people listing Cocoa addresses, offering a snapshot of recent law-enforcement activity tied to local neighborhoods. • Singed osprey found near Blue Origin blast site is recovering (floridatoday.com) — A badly singed osprey found near the recent Blue Origin rocket explosion at Cape Canaveral is slowly recovering at Florida Wildlife Hospital, though its exact injury cause remains unclear. The hospital, which also recently treated a burned caracara rescued off Cox Road in Cocoa, expects months of care and is asking for community donations to support the birds’ long recoveries.
