• Navy veteran helps rescue girl, dog from DeLand house fire (fox35orlando.com) — A DeLand girl and her dog were pulled from a burning Cascade Falls Lane home Tuesday afternoon thanks to a quick-acting Navy veteran and fast-arriving police and deputies. All four people treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns are expected to recover, while state fire investigators work to determine what sparked the blaze and DeLand police prepare to release bodycam video of the rescue.
