• COPS: Man charged with shooting another with shotgun (yoursun.com) — Englewood residents may want to know that a Port Charlotte man has been charged with aggravated battery after another man drove himself to HCA Florida Englewood Hospital with a shotgun wound. Deputies say the shooting happened earlier this month in the Gulf Cove area, and the suspect was later arrested on a warrant and released on bond with no-contact orders.
