• Chitwood: Driver Shot by Deputy Fled Deputies for Over 6 Hours (newsdaytonabeach.com) — An Eustis resident, 29-year-old Brandon Joseph Brabin, was fatally shot by a Volusia County deputy after an overnight pursuit that began with reckless driving reports in DeLand. Investigators say his car moved toward the deputy in a Walmart parking lot before the single shot was fired. State authorities are now reviewing whether the use of force was justified while the deputy remains off patrol.
