With more than 40% of JetBlue flights now running through FLL and 11 new destinations planned, including the airline’s first-ever route to Venezuela, the carrier is positioning FLL as a stronger gateway for South Florida residents.
   

2. Fort Lauderdale fears deep cuts from property tax amendment (miamiherald.com) — Fort Lauderdale could lose up to $27 million a year in property tax revenue if voters statewide approve a November constitutional amendment boosting homestead exemptions. City leaders are warning residents that parks, camps, and other services may face cuts and are preparing an outreach campaign while debating whether to raise taxes, trim departments, or both.
