• Deputy bonds out of Broward jail after domestic violence arrest (local10.com) — A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy has bonded out of the Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale after being arrested on domestic violence charges stemming from an incident in Miramar. Investigators say the deputy allegedly beat and choked his fiancée during a dispute, then took her gun; he’s now on unpaid leave under court orders to avoid weapons and stay away from the victim.
   

• Man arrested in murder of Alabama State student from Fort Lauderdale, police say (nbcmiami.com) — Two young Fort Lauderdale natives attending Alabama State University are at the center of a tragic case after 20-year-old student Ava Walters was found dead at an off-campus facility in Montgomery. Police have arrested 22-year-old Jalil Bivens, also from Fort Lauderdale, on a murder charge, while university leaders publicly offered condolences and support to her family and classmates.
   

• Porter Adds New Airport, Routes to the U.S. (airlinegeeks.com) — Porter Airlines is adding new seasonal service between London, Ontario and Fort Lauderdale starting November 18, with four weekly flights using Embraer E195-E2 jets. This gives Broward travelers another option for visiting Canada while also tying Fort Lauderdale more closely into a broader North American route network.
