South Florida civic and nonprofit organizations are invited to participate in the 2026 Fort Lauderdale Air Show (May 9–10) on Fort Lauderdale Beach through structured team volunteer opportunities supporting event operations.The 2026 show will feature premier military demonstration teams, including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, F-22 Raptor Demo Team, and U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet Demo Team. The event is part of the nationwide America 250 celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Air Dot Show serves as event producer and coordinates volunteer operations, providing donations to participating organizations based on the number of volunteers who support the event each day.
Volunteer team placements are now filling, and limited spaces remain for organizations interested in participating. Organizations typically provide teams of 10–20 volunteers per day and may participate Saturday, Sunday, or both days.
The opportunity provides a structured way for organizations to raise funds while engaging members in a high-visibility community event that brings together residents and visitors from across South Florida.
Volunteer roles are coordinated by Air Dot Show and may include guest services, ticketing support, hospitality, concessions support, and related event operations functions designed for community volunteers.

Broward Partnership will host its annual&nbsp;Salute to Leadership: “Golden Hour Gala” on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale.
The “Golden Hour Gala” event brings together community leaders, philanthropists, and supporters to honor the lives touched by Broward Partnership and advance its mission to - reduce homelessness in Broward County.
Set during the “Golden Hour,” the evening invites guests to reflect on the weight of time and the fleeting moments that shape a life, underscoring that every hour matters for those without shelter, safety, or stability.
The evening will include a cocktail reception, dinner, silent auction, entertainment, and a program highlighting the organization’s impact and client success stories.
The event committee members include Jerry Gutierrez (Chair), Margi Glavovic Nothard, Emily Stark, Joanne Snead, and Ed McDonough.
The Salute to Leadership event plays a crucial role in advancing Broward Partnership's mission to reduce homelessness by providing vital resources needed for their clients to establish self-sufficiency and stable housing. •Leaders United’s Las Olas Odyssey invites participants to explore downtown Fort Lauderdale through an interactive scavenger hunt designed to spark connection, friendly competition, and community impact.
•The adventure will begin and end at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas, where teams will navigate a series of clues and challenges throughout the area before returning to the finish line.
•Once registered, participants will receive an email with additional details about the scavenger hunt.
•Following the scavenger hunt, participants are invited to continue the fun during a networking hour hosted by Cadence Real Estate Group at Preston’s Lounge, located inside the Riverside Hotel, featuring beverages and light bites.

Launch PRIDE Month in style at Galleria Fort Lauderdale’s “Take PRIDE!”2026, a History Fort Lauderdale benefit cocktail reception and exhibitionhonoring LGBTQ+ community advocates. The special event, hosted byprevious “Take PRIDE!” honoree FayWhat?!, will kick off Wilton Manors Stonewall PRIDE Parade &amp; Street Festival activities and pay tribute to some of South Florida’s most impactful LGBTQ+ leaders with surprise performances. The stage presentation will include the first public performance for the newly crowned Mizz OutSFL. Attendees will also receive a sneak preview of the exhibition “Coming Out of the Shadows” that will run from May 29 – June 30 at Galleria Fort Lauderdale (2414EastSunriseBlvd).
This year’s “Take PRIDE!” honorees who have made significant contributions to the South Florida community are: 
Chris Caputo, commissioner and vice mayor of the City of Wilton Manors; Dennis Dean, executive director of ArtsUnited; Robert Griffin and Durrell Watkins, the bishops of Sunshine Cathedral; Ronnie Larsenof Ronnie Larsen Presents, actor, director, playwright, and producer; Rafaelé Narváez, co-founder and director of health programs for Latinos Salud; Jason Parsley, owner and publisher of Out South Florida; William C. Schultz, police chief, City of Fort Lauderdale; Nicole Stodard, artistic director of Thinking Cap Theatre; and Tatiana Williams, founder and executive director of TransInclusive Group, Inc. 
The “Take PRIDE!” 2026 exhibit “Coming Out of the Shadows” will feature photos and ephemera that tell the stories of the tumultuous political climate of 1960s pre-Stonewall Fort Lauderdale. The exhibit, a collaboration with Stonewall National Museum, Archives &amp; Library and Florida International University, is curated by Fred Fejes, professor emeritus of multimedia studies at Florida Atlantic University and Julio Capo, Jr., an author and associate professor of history at Florida International University. 
The exhibition will be free and open to the public during mall hours. 
“Take PRIDE!” is presented by Galleria Fort Lauderdale with support from The Our Fund Foundation, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel &amp; Casino Hollywood, HotSpots Media Group/Happening Out Television Network, OUT SFL, Hunters Nightclubs, Gulf Stream Distillery, Ethos Greek Bistro, and GPR | Goodman Public Relations.
