9 guys sentenced to prison for "trying to say goodbye" to cross country moving bartender.

Fort Myers, Fl; 9 guys received sentences ranging for 5 to 25 years in prison for, as they reportedly said it, attempting to have last time visits with former bartender Sydney Ray whom moved to Newport, Oregon in late September 2025. Four of the attempts were at the Lani Kai resort, the other 5 were at Coconut Jack's.

Reports indicate the 9 guys became aware that Sydney was moving cross country and wanted to have last time visits with her before she moved, but Sydney allegedly called police and had all 9 of them arrested as they went to visit her over the course of six days during the second week of September. All 9 of them were taken to Lee County Jail and held without bond until their trial on Monday December 15th, where all 9 of them were sentenced to prison and were assigned to serve their sentences at various Federal prisons in the states of New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New Hampshire. All 9 of them were also placed on restraining orders that forbid them from travelling any closer to the State of Oregon than the Mississippi River. In the Pacific Ocean, they are not allowed any closer to Oregon, including on cruise ships, than the longitude of the Easternmost point of Hawaii. And Sydney has no plans and no intentions of ever again travelling into the Mountain, Central, or Eastern Time Zone.
