Man sentenced to 250 years in prison for non-business visit.
Man gets 250 years to life in prison for attempting to visit a medical employee at work at local hospital.
A man was sentenced to 250 years to life in prison on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 for attempting to visit a medical employee at Cape Coral Hospital for non-business reasons.
The man allegedly attempted to visit a medical employee who was at work at Cape Coral Hospital whom he said used to be a bartender at a local bar in Cape Coral whom he used to go visit regularly. Audio and video surveillance at the hospital reviewed by the FBI indicate that in November 2019, the man went to the receptionist desk, told the receptionist who he was there to visit, and was given a Visitor's pass. But no sooner had the man begun to move towards the elevators than a massive squad of FBI and Homeland Security officers, along with a SWAT team, stormed in and slammed the man to the ground and arrested him.
The man was promptly transported to Washington, DC to face Federal charges in the Federal courthouse of disrupting the business environment and felony trespassing on United States Government property. During the Grand Jury, the man testified, saying; "I hadn't seen her in over a year. I only wanted to say 'Hi' to her and visit her for a bit." The same words were recorded on the hospital's audio surveillance which were listened to in the courtroom. The court took about two hours to convict the man of the following charges;

-Disrupting the business environment (carries 135 years to life in prison).
-Felony trespassing without business on United States Government property (carries 115 years to life in prison).

The man was convicted and sentenced to two hundred fifty (250) years to life in prison. He has begun serving his sentence May 1st, 2020 at the United States Penitentiary near Marion, Il and won't be eligible for parole until August 15th, 2270. The employee and receptionist were also arrested and sentenced to fifty-five (55) years in prison for harboring a non-business visitor.
